Tatoos, shopping and happy families

Since the last entry, I have calmed down. Re-reading it, I was a right bag of moans. Thankfully, the mood improved and today I am a happy camper. The weekend was a busy one. Friday night, the mate R was supposed to be getting her tattoo. I was supposed to be on hand to feed her gin and hold her hand whilst someone burnt the picture of an atom to her back. As it turns out, the tatoo
guy cancelled. I was enroute with gin and a book I had been raving about, so I headed out there anyway. She lives in the gayest apartment I’ve seen and that’s saying something when you consider our apartment. There was pizza, beer and lots of gin. Talk of life , love, wheat based products and squirrels and how they are all barstewards. And how you can be suspended loads of times
and still make prefect.

I got home around 2 and then realised that I needed to be up for 9 the following morning as I told the kid we were going clothes shopping. I wasn’t too tired getting up the following morning, but after 3 hours shopping with her, I was beginning to wane.

The kid had loads of energy. We hit Pennies and then a few other shops. She was happy, the bank
account wasn’t. We managed to find a shop that sold her top-hat. She is insisting on dressing up for Pride. As a groom and she already has a bride so she’s very excited. Shopping over with, laden down with bags, we return to find Mammy2 up to her neck in cleaning, I thought she’d be still in bed. We
told the kid about her report and what grades she got. She was happy enough with the art grade but pretty pissed off about the english D3. She said she’s going to talk to her english teacher when she returns.

We got dressed up and got the DART to Howth as there was a family dinner with Mammy2’s family for her sister’s 30th. Aqua was the location, its a gorgeous restaurent hanging over the sea. Its hard to describe, but well worth a visit. The day was beautiful. Lots of sunshine. After the meal, we headed
for a drink in a nearby pub. The kid was initially wary of the children, there’s 5 of them in total under the age of 6, but eventually got chatting to them and impressed them with her art. She was drawing pictures of Spiderman for one of the boys, who sat gazing at her in awe. It was very cute.

I was wrecked from the long day. When we got home it was straight to bed. I was supposed to be resting this weekend to save my energy for the week ahead. So much for that plan. The photographer called around and took several pics. The cheeseiness of the whole thing. It was “can you put your hand there, gaze at each other like you love each other, yeah, that’s great” and so on. I think its supposed to be in the Wedensday or Thursday edition. I know its going to be horrible. Why do they always want cheesy pics.

This week is gearing up to be a mad one. Pride is in less then a week and I am wrecked already.

No sign of a job and she’s starting to get restless. She’s coming out with more “I’m bored” phrases then usual. This week she should be okay, as its her bday next Monday, so she’s excited about that. 16 going on 17. I feel old ;)
