How a phonecall can make you smile

The mate C just rang. He’s been back for a couple of weeks now but managed to do his hand in and was out of work and knocked up on tranquillsers so he’s just about back to normal. As normal as he can appear. Was good to hear from him, I even managed to get a date out of him for meeting up. I’m seeing him next week when we go to a wedding of a mutual friend. A girl I used to work with in my previous work place. She’s lovely. I went through a phase of having a seriousingly embaressing crush on her but thankfully that wore off. I sortof got her and her man together. He’s so nice, I remember we’d be at tea breaks and he’d come down for a coffee and I’d admire his ass. I got away with it because of my sappic inclinations :) Perks of being a laserbeam. We were supposed to be staying over but are now watching all the funds so Mammy2 is the designated driver. Lucky her eh? I need to find something to wear though. The only smart clothes I possess are black, black with a hint of black. Its bad enough we’ll be the token lesbians without drawing unwarrented attention upon ourselves by turning up at a wedding looking like we’d be more home at a funeral.

The kid rang. She has gotten her first ever pay cheque of any kind. So what if its from a FAS course, at least she’s doing something! She’s over the moon. She’s off to buy the boyf’s bday pressie, its his bday tomorrow. She’s getting him a DS lite and a turtle. Yes, that wasn’t a typo. He’s that kind of boy. It was very funny last week at lunch when the sister and the brother were trying to keep up with her. We are quite used to her and her topic changing speed. She was talking about how the boy is looking for a job but he loves wrestling and that’s what he wants to do except there’s no money in it and even less if he becomes a ‘heel’. Cue blank looks. In fairness I had no idea what a heel was either. Basically the wrestling works like this. There are goodies and baddies. Stay with me, this may get interesting at some part :P The boyf’s boss is a bit of a fecker and so wants to make I a heel, which means there’ll be even less money in it for him then there is at the mo from selling 8×10s of himself. Its okay when he’s a goodie, I am unsure what the proper wrestling term for goodie is, perhaps hat? Who knows. So the moral of the story is don’t be a heel if you want the kids to like you. Or something. She sprained her ankle falling over one of her rabbits but managed to make it into the course today. She’s supposed to be going out with her new gfriends from the course. I was slagging her so much as one of the girls she’s hanging around with it is the type of girl she would spend all her time taking the piss out of. But the girl latched onto the kid on her first day and the kid says she feels sorry for her. So its fake tan and a posh accent all the day. I wonder are they going to go to Brown Thomas next week to shop.

I feel muchos better today after some sleep last night. The last few nights I haven’t been sleeping properly or perhaps it was just the weekend still catching up on me. My muscles also appeared to have recovered from Wed’s class. Its a toss up between loving and hating being partnered with the instructor. You learn so much about techniques and stuff but you get such a workout. When I wasn’t hitting him, or trying to hit him I had to work the bag. I crawled out of the dojo on Wed. Really good class though. We then had to leg it to the Morrison to meet this woman who was doing some research into lesbians and ivf and suchlike and we said we’d be happy to answer any questions she had. She was very nice and awfully posh. I hope we were of some use to her. Tonight is a spud meet and it looks like its going to be a good one! Loads of newbies which is great. Fresh blood keeps the forum going. I have the spud packed. I have the new team uniform ironed. In fairness its not too different from the old one except its the spud is in color and team spud is written on the back. A good few of the team can make it as well which is always good. Else I look like that loner in Pantibar with a spud under one arm. Don’t think it hasn’t happen before. Thankfully people are too scared to approach. One of the newbies already txted me to double check the details. I think she’s a tad nervous bless her cottens. Here’s to what should hopefully be a great night.

The weekend will be spent mostly in the company of Mammy2’s family. We’re travelling up to the Slieve Russell tomorrow evening for dinner and staying over. All the partners are going and the kids. I shall have my camera at the ready. Its times like this I wish Matilda wasn’t broken, Freddie is good and all, but as digital cameras go he doesn’t have the same potential as Matilda does. I can only do my best though and the kids are getting to the stage where they sometimes don’t want their photos taken.Divas that they are!
