Subject of an email from a mate:Preggers?!

A mate of mine sent me an email on Friday evening with the above subject and the following body:

Have you got a bun in the oven? I could be extrapolating from something you said in the forum but - are congratuatlions in order?!!!

He’s a funny guy. I had to explain to him that firstly we hadn’t even started treatment yet and that it would be the immaculate conception and secondly if I was lucky enough to have a ‘bun in the oven’, he would find out by means other then a forum. He’s in the close circle of mates and so to think that he would find out that way is just mad. I think the study is gone to his head so I let him away with it. But
I had to laugh, trust him to cut straight to it. Speaking of all things babies still no word from the clinic. I know they had said that because we want to use our mam it would cause longer delays but its been 2 weeks since the ethics committee were supposed to meet. Perhaps they didn’t meet yet. I think as soon as the clinic know we’ll know. Its just the waiting is tough. I suppose it gives us time to get our funds in other.

The weekend was a tad maniac. Two big sporting occasions, the Division 2 League Final between Westmeath and Dublin and the Heinken Cup semi final between Munster and Sarcens. Great matches both of them espeically the first one with Westmeath gaining reveng for the O’Byrne Cup humilation
at the hands of the Dubs by winning the title. They last won it in 2003 so it was a great boost. Not only that but we played really well without the injured Dessie Dolan who came on in the last 15 minutes. It was a fab game. Mammy2 even had to admit we deserved to win. Much celebrating was had although we were still home and tucked up in bed by 10. Hardcore celebrations. I was up early enough on Sunday to tackle the itunes library and tidy up the movies directory. Spring cleaning for the pc. I got the library sorted and now Mork has lots of new music on him. He should be well chuffed. We headed out to watch the Munster game then and Mammy2 felt uncomfortable surrounded by Munster heads, her being a leinster fan. I was chuffed. One or 2 of the guys looked like rugby players, all shoulders :) One of the guys was the spit of Shay Given only with a rugby player’s body. I was in heaven. The mate J and her gf joined us for the second half of the game. It was a tight match but Munster just about managed to hold on.

We decided to go to the cinema and catch Water Lillies then. A lesbian angst coming of age film I think I mentioned in another post a while back. Well, the pouting from one of the leads was impressive. See the promo poster for an example of the pout. Some of the scenes were heart breaking and bring you right back to that time when you had your first unrequited love. All of the feelings and emotions. Nothing will ever feel like this or so you think. Overall the film was excellent and the three leads were exceptional for fifteen year olds. For a directorial debut from CĂ©line Sciamma its an excellent film. I’d recommend checking it out if you get the chance.

From the IFI to Koh as J’s gf S hadn’t seen it and heard J raving about it for the last week so it was a cocktail in Koh and then onto Pantibar. It was a spontanous day and I don’t usually do well with spontaneous as the mate J slags me about, but yesterday I managed to go with the flow. A bit. It wasn’t too upsetting :) Perhaps we could say this is progress. After such a mad weekend thankfully the week is looking quiet enough.

I am training tonight , although my shoulders haven’t forgiven me for Satuday’s class. We had to do punching in the air for 2 minutes and then work the bag for 2 minutes. Punching in the air doesn’t sound so bad but when its the speedball, its very tiring on your shoulders as you have to keep your fists level with your shoulders. It was a case of Ow yesterday, they’re not too bad today but I want to go tonight as myself and J are shopping for a digital camera on Wed. Well, she’s shopping and I’m advising.

I got another email from the sister, horse riding and bbqs is what she’s been up to. I checked out the pics on their blog and it looks like they are having a great time. I really want to go on holiday but everything is on hold until we hear from the clinic. I need to keep my days for when we are travelling up and down to Kilkenny. I have 15 days left though so its still a lot. But I’ve love a weekend in the sun, perhaps Barcelona. With Mammy2’s work place she can’t take any leave at all, its ridiculous. She has to ask for leave 6 months in advance. She’s been looking around for another job but so far nothing. I am hoping she’ll get something new before the baby thing starts as her place are going to be so difficult.
