Learning something new every day
It never ceases to amaze me that every time I do a website, I learn something else and it helps with the next project. It sounds stupid but its true! I am nearly finished one of my own pet projects and then its onto 3 more websites. I spent most of yesterday evening after training finalising the site ready for launch on Thursday. Of course it looked fabulous in Firefox, shite in IE and worse in Safari. I nearly cried. I thought it would take a huge amount of work to fix the templates, as it turned out it was a straightforward CSS change and voila the site looks lovely in all of them
Very happy with myself. Very happy overall.
A great weekend was had. I was a bit aprehensive about it, there was so much on but it was great. Better then I had hoped. Saturday was eurovision day and I was up early enough, despite a bug that seems to have taken hold of my body. It never really surfaces, just lets me know its there the odd time by giving the body the chills, the shakes and the odd feeling of nausea. Thankfully it happens rarely and of course had to show its face in training on Sat. Training was a tough class, all about cardio. I hate cardio. A small bit is fine, but when you’re about to pass out because the oxygen is rushing
too fast to your head, its not good. Then again I should have taken it easy. Halfway through the class and into round 9 and I was not well. A quick walk outside, gulps of fresh air, 2 minutes later I’m back in and back to the bag. Its incredibly frustrating when your body lets you down like that. Great class though, love pounding the bag.
Lunch and a catchup with an old friend. Then off to the ruggers and watch Munster maul their way to a second Heineken Cup. From the raw power of the Munster team, to the ‘delicate’ features of the Eurovision hosts. All in a days play! The eurovision meet was a great success. Times like Sat night make me realise why I put so much work into the website and the gang behind it. The newbies are great, so enthusastic and excited about everything. They had already attended the picnic earlier in the day. I couldn’t make it as I reackon I would have used up all my energy and not been able for the eurovision. I may have self combusted from the excitement. Everyone seemed to get into it, although they did give me strange looks at various times, like when Latvia came on. For some reason they were’t getting into the swaying bit? Strange creatures.
The kid has a job! She sent me one of those the person at blah has no credit and would like you to ring them. Meteor really have the teenager market down don’t they? So she’s starting tomorrow in the a hotel, working the switchboard. Mimium wage but its a job and she’s excited about it. Which is great. As long as her sick days don’t follow through to the work place she should be okay. Hopefully she’ll have a bit more cash then. We had to buy her credit again yesterday, some things never change. Herself and her man are together a year on the bank holiday weekend so they are thinking of going away for the weekend together. Cute. Where they are getting the money I don’t know. I told her as a present and if the trip wasn’t too expensive we would put some money towards it. I get the feeling we’ll be covering it. Call it parents intution.
