That Friday Feeling
After vowing to not go out on a school night and telling myself I wouldn’t overdo it, what did I do? I went ahead anyways and had too much beer. I blame the workmates and the conference for having free drink. Pfft. The conference was mind and bum numbling stuff. Four hours of how we are all leaders and how we are going to change the world. I think I might buy a cape. Just cause. Also the question of underpants inside or outside the tights. These thoughts floated through my mind as the next speaker told us how we were going to contribute to profits and help with the next financial year. The good thing about the conference was that it was in the Guiness Storehouse. Having never been, I know, I know, here’s my Orish passport, it was an expierence. During the break , when I had convinced my ass that yes indeed I was leaving the seat, we headed up to Gravity Bar and the views
are breath-taking. I’d say at night its even more amazing. But funnily enough they only serve Guiness. Which is fine if you are fond of the black stuff. Lots and lots of tourists sipping their pints, some making faces. I’m not surprised, its horrible. Nice to look at and they have great advertisments but its mank. Mammy2 likes the odd pint of it. Guinness drinkers are a funny bunch. They swear that the pint tastes different from pub to pub. For example Mulligans on Poolbeg Street supposedly serve the best pint. Mammy2 disagrees. She swears our old local The Quill used to before it closed its doors. I’m convinved she only said that because it was so close to the apartment.
Thankfully today is a slow day in work so I don’t have to do too much to do. I’ve been tweaking the Spud a fair bit. I have yet to do up the new homepage and add the smilies in. I’ve been trying to kickstart the team into getting more involved, but with them having lives it can be hard. I always feel like big bad boss when I start to ask them to contribute more, post more topics etc. There will be a Mod meet happening in the near future so I guess I can see where we are at then. The weekend
looms and looks free
Apart from rugby tomorrow, Heineken Cup game. Not that I follow it, but Mammy2 is a big Leinster supporter so I will join her for the second half after I train. Chances are she’ll be well tiddly by the time I get showered and out to wherever they find to watch the match.
