Heading towards 2009
The madness of it all is over for another year. A lovely christmas with the family despite the best efforts of the flu to ruin things. As a result though we didn’t catch up with some of the guys we were planning to see before the big day itself. I’m sure we’ll see them in the new year. That’s my phrase de jour at the mo, am doing everything in the new year. I hope its a long one. The flu was so bad though, we had all planned for a festive day one of the days, and we just about made it off the couch to go to the christmas carols in the national concert hall. Only for Mammy2’s Mam and our mate S were going we would have stayed home. As a result of going out that night, most of the following 2 days including half of christmas eve were spent in bed coughing and sweating. Charming I’m sure. Thankfully though we were recovered enough to do all our road trips on christmas eve. Out to drop in on the niece and nephews as we had missed the niece’s bday bash. Onto pick up the kid and then dropping into a work mate before hitting the airport. I’m not sure why I thought it would be mad busy but the airport was really quiet. Scaringly so. It seems the madness was all during the day.
Christmas day and stephen’s day passed with much fun and family time and only a small bit of illness. The cough still lingers on though. Its one of those coughs where you start and can’t stop and you feel like you’re going to throw up. I was so tempted to not come into work today but I said even if I went in for a while and showed my face. There are 3 people in the whole office. Madness. I might knock off early and get some rest before dinner tonight. The sister and her man are doing some travelling up and down the country to visit some of their mates, so we said as they were away we’d have our dinner with A and S as we always do at christmas instead of getting each other christmas pressies. Speaking of christmas pressies, I got so many cool ones including and wait for this an adopted meerkat.
Well, she still lives at the zoo but I’m her parent. I have to do all sorts of meerkat parently duties. I got a cool pic of her and I must find out when her birthday is so I can visit. She’s so cute! Seeing as the ovaries are being prize coots, its the closest thing I’m getting to parenting at the moment. We missed ovulation again this month. Don’t ask me what’s going on, I have no idea. According
to the OPKs I don’t ovulate, but according to my body’s reaction I do. We’ve invested in a basal thermometer, I see fun times ahead with that. Supposedly it can be inserted it most places but the best results are from the place I’m least likely to want it. I’ll keep you posted. Don’t be sitting on the edge of your seat though.
