Sleep is underrated

Seriously, I turn from a growling mess into a somewhat reasonable person. Well in my opinion. The end of a 4 day week with no training apart from that wee walk aka the marathon on Monday and I am starting to dread getting back into it. Don’t get me wrong, I love it. Its great for stress and its an excellent workout but returning after a 2 week break is always going to be tough. I am however determind to head to tomorrow’s class. An added incentive is I’ve persuaded Mammy2 to come along. I convinced her that to try one or 2 classes in a month so she could learn some routines which she could then use in her own training at her gym. She’s a tad reluctant but I reckon it will be good for her. The womens only class on a Sat is usually a good class to begin with, it tends to be less phyiscal and more technical. If the weather stays as it is that will be perfect else I fear I may fall over.

Took it easy the last 2 nights, went to bed at 8.30 on Wed evening I was so grumpy. It was for Mammy2’s safety more then anything or so I keep telling myself. Yesterday I had a meeting with the Parents Support Group that I’ve been helping get set up with a website. Its times like this, when I see how chuffed they are and what a difference it will make to them and hopefully others that I love what I do. I love that something simple that I love to do helps other people. For me its all good as I get to code and generally wallow in techyiness. It was strange though to be talking to people who for whatever reasons don’t even know the whole area of the web. I refrained from mentioning Twitter or Facebook else I scare them, email seemed a big enough chore. Yet these amazing people, some of them have been part of Parents Support for 20 years. 20 years of answering phone calls, of trying to explain to a parent just because their son is gay doesn’t mean he is going to get AIDS, of trying to help parents who grapple with who they should tell, who they shouldn’t, how can they explain it to their own parents and so on. I guess sometimes when you are plodding along in your own little world, you can sometimes forget that its not that easy for everyone and everyone’s parents aren’t able to deal as well as the next person. Hence this weekend I shall be slicing and dicing the PSDs I received and hopefully getting a test site running for them to enter content. We are hoping to press release and get the site some publicity.

Apart from that wee bit of work, the weekend shall be sport filled. With the Lions tour continuing tomorrow and the big match on Sunday between Dublin and Meath. Looking forward
to it. The brother and his gf are around on Sat evening so we shall be bringing them to a local bar in Stoneybatter. The plan was to lie low due to lack of funds etc but seeing as he is
making an effort to come all the way up from the sticks then I reckon I should make an effort. Which means an early night tonight else I’ll have another grumpy head on me tomorrow.
Once I get the voting out of the way, it will home to the couch and in bed for 9. That’s a hardcore Friday night for you :)

had to keep moving the scan thing to get a clear look and Tuesday I heard the heartbeat so it’s all good
