Day 3 of working with the kid

So far I have to say its going surprisingly well. With the exception of my card being wiped out a few more times then its used to. I think you tend to forget the money goes off it automatically and the first day I did say I’d cover her. She started on Friday and she’s really settled in. She’s flying at the photoshop stuff and so far she hasn’t been assigned any ‘real work’ so she’s working on the tutorials. Its weird having her across the way from me, she’s on gchat haressing me for tea or scrabble. She seems to think we have a fairly handy number here and I suppose when you look at other places and how strict they might be then yeah I guess she’s right, we are fairly easy going. We have come to compromise regarding stairs and the lift. She’s terrifed of the whole open plan-ness of the place and I hate the lift. When we need to go to Starbucks we take the lift, I think 6 flights of stairs would kill the poor thing. spud06dAnd most other times we get the stairs. Speaking of Starbucks we took a trip up there this morning as she was hungry and wanted a pastry. There were all these new fancy schmany crisps called Darling Spuds and the packaging was pretty impressive o I decided to purchase a packet to have with lunch. I know I know, I am a marketers dream impulse buy based on cute packaging. On the packet it said it was sour cream with a hint of mexican chilli. Firstly sour cream tends to be a strong flavour but you’d have to go looking for it with these crisps. As for the ‘hint’ of chilli, they must have left the chilli near it hoping it would transfer itself by osmosis or something because I couldn’t find it. Its back to Tayto for me, at least you can rely on their flavours, you don’t but salt and vingear and get ‘taste of sea’ or some rubbish like that. I can’t believe I had forsaken the tayto. I have learned my lesson.

Today I am much more alert then yesterday. We had AMD on Sunday and whilst we didn’t play on staying out for too long, the place had good food, cold beer and a jukebox. Also the lack of mammies out with kids was great so all in all, we couldn’t leave it. Altough we came pretty close when we discovered the jukebox was a Joan Jett free one. I mean what kind of jukebox doesn’t have Joan Jett? I love Rock and Roll is a classic. The 2 of us were pretty rough yesterday, Mammy2 was very sensible and joined us later on in the evening so she was playing catch up. Despite the hangover and the many ailments the kid was suffering from, we made it training. I went to my regular class and I had suggested the kid and Mammy2 come down to the cardio class. As I left the apartment, the kid was complaing about aforementioned ailments and Mammy2 still wasn’t home so I assumed the liklihood of them showing up were slim and none. We had done some clothing shopping on the Sunday as the kid needed new training gear to stop borrowing ours so she had a lovely black ensemble with pink. If, a few years ago, you had told me that anything pink would be adorning her body I would have looked at you twice. But it seems some pink works and it does suit her. We were finishing up the 7 o’clock class when I spotted the 2 of them.

It was Mammy2’s second time so she knew what to expect whereas the poor kid was not ready for it. She sat out some of it and whilst her breathing was bad and she was drinking water, she still managed to find time to comparing some of my moves to your grandad at the afters of a wedding. 3902This is why people don’t come and watch cardio class! We’re going to our regular kickboxing
class tonight which has less cardio and she prefers. Mainly I reckon cause she can hit me and its okay. We really love each other :) Speaking of kboxing, I got a cool pressie this morning from the sister K. She got me a deadly mug with Edward Monkton ninja buscuits on it. It kicks serious ass! I love it, can’t wait to get it home and make tea in it.
