Horror Movies
Myself and the kid love them. Even though we have been treated badly by them in recent years, not since Paranormal Activity have we had a really good scare. So naturally, and rather niavely I feel, we were looking forward to The Last Exorcism. The trailer promised a lot. A lot more then the movie delivered. The thing about the movie was that it didn’t know what it wanted to be. A mockumentary, a scary movie , a thriller, what? It borrowed heavily from The Blair Witch but if you remember the Blair Witch, it was made all the more atmospheric due to the lack of cello players following everyone around the the crescendo getting higher as we headed towards a scary scene. The ending was so abrupt that the majority of the audience reacted with a sigh and a couple of “what a load of shites”. Pretty much summed it up. The kid was incensed. So much so she’s writting a review of it for the website. Next movie which will get us to the cinema will be Paranormal Activity 2. Now that first movie still gives me a new hairstyle whenever I think about it.
But it was sister’s night, so we headed home after ranting about the movie and watched our new fav tv show Rizzoli and Isles, they’re like the new Xena and Gabs. Seriously, the amount of eye-sex these 2 have should be illegal. The kid originally mocked us for watching a cop show with hot women. Now she’s into episode 4. Although how she manages to follow any of it whilst imdbing the guest stars, txting her man and getting munchies is beyond me. Its a talent she must have. Ever since we got her the iphone for her bday, she feels the need to imdb everyone. We could be out for a cocktails, and she thinks she recognises the barman so she’s off to the internet. Its getting whereby its easier to txt her and start a convo then try it face to face. The other day myself and Mammy2 had a missed call from her. Where was she? In the bedroom, she didn’t want to move from the bedroom.
College starts on Monday with a half day and registartion. She has paid the registration fees, 1500 euros. Thank god for the college fund. Its going to cost 1500 a year and then there’ll be field trips, books and so on. Then you read in the papers about how people from working class backgrounds don’t go to college because they can’t afford it? Science of the bleedin obvious more like. Only for I was helped out by the local nuns, I wouldn’t have lasted at college. There was no way Mam could have afforded the various costs. Anyhew, her first week seems to be getting settled in, finding out what classes are on and so on. I told her she has to ring us on Monday evening as we’ll be in Holland and I want to find out how she gets on with her first day.
