Joyce Carol Oates: Her piece ‘On Boxing’ is actually quite feminist. The context of that quote needs to be examined - that particular line appears in parentheses whilst discussing the ideology behind men fighting to determine worth.

lol! you are so right - they’re not sure a rare breed - some of the ‘queens’ here in Brighton are the bitchiest people I’ve ever met.
Oh…and yrs ago, on my first visit to one of Brighton’s main an still well-loved ‘gay clubs’, I got the s*** kicked out of me, sneakily away from the CCTV, by a gay guy from Dublin! you’d think with both of us being Irish in the UK would have been a common denominator - my arse! don’t get me started!!!

You most definately are not an aging old bat in relation to the volume level at Kiss. Bloody hell, I’ve been to rock gigs that are only half as loud. surely it’s a case for health and safety?
