We inherited a teenager. We lived to tell the tale. Just about.
Right now I feel like poor Snoopy there on the right. I’d love about 24 hours sleep. Its my own fault, its hard to have sympathy for myself. Tuesday night was sister’s night and as usual we headed training but afterwards instead of sitting on the couch watching some B horror movie, we headed to a local stablishment for a few beverages. It seemed like a good idea at the time, we were both cranky from training and decided that to head out would solve the problem. Best laid plans and all that. Let me speak from expierence and say without hesitation that whilst the jukebox is one of the greatest inventions of all time, when under the influence and finding music that you love, one should never be allowed pick songs you think everyone will enjoy. That’s the first thing. The second thing is if you have to pick the songs you love, don’t mix things up by picking songs with someone who has a vastly, and this word cannot be stressed enough, vastly different musical taste to your good self. The watering hole that we found ourselves in is a grand wee pub, a decent mix of age groups and nice barman. So far so good. The football was on in one area of the pub and jukebox was on in the other area. I inquired if we could put music on, always good to get the barmen on side. They replied in the positive. Then they, and they only have themselves to blame for this, turned up the damn thing. All well and good when the kid selected Thunderstuck, not so good when I selected Defyin Gravity from Glee directly afterwards. I didn’t even look at the bar as I heard the necks of the regulars turning slowly towards the lone small woman sipping her pint looking everywhere but directly at them. To add insult to injury the kid wants to head to ATM and couldn’t get out of the place fast enough. So there I am, alone, feeling the eyes of the ‘locals’ boring into me as Kurt hits the high notes. I escaped a lynching as the kid’s next choice kicked in and they all showed their best efforts at rocking out to Whitesnake.
So yeah, Tuesday, few beers, late night and very little sleep. Last night was the Gloria table quiz. We sucked, it was good fun though. Things were so bad that during the gay round,there was a maximum of 20 points to be had from the round, I got 4. 4 and even all of them weren’t from me, one of my colleagues contributed that one. I felt gay shame for letting my side down. I mean I didn’t even get how many countries have some sort of civil partnership laws in place. I am a bad gay. Last night was another late one and tonight we are visiting a mate who’s pregant and we haven’t seen in ages. From there its onto a workmate’s wedding afters. I am tired just thinking about it. Hopefully it won’t be too late a one and I took tomorrow off, I needed some downtime and want to spend some time with Mammy2 as she’s been out sick from work. She’s on the road to recovery but it will be nice just to hang out and do nothing.
Well its back tonight but at least I have something to get me out of my funk. That and the latest eurovision entries. I have been doing my research and so far I am loving Germany and Denmark and Aremenia god bless her cottens and its not for her singing. I mean look at that visage. Although she could do with a few sandwiches, her song is catchy but won’t win. I have high hopes for Ireland, as I do every year but this year more so because we have quality in Niamh Kavanagh, she has the expierence, the stage presence and the voice. Now if she could just get the look right I reckon we shall do well. So Glee, the eurovision and the sunshine is doing its best to lift the spirits. I think PMT is wrecking havoc with my moods. That and family issues with Mammy2’s clan.
Poor Mammy2 is sick and I don’t think the situation is helping. Its incredibly frustrating because its between her and the person but lordy does this person need a good boot up the hoo-ha. In all honestly, how many adults sulk? Really? Its reserved for toddlers and teenagers not adults. Such a mature thing to do. I was going to say hopefully the person involved will cop on and just apologies but chance would be a fine thing. They are on their pedalestal thinking they are of course in the right. Of course. Can’t see the damn wood for the trees. Thankfully Mammy2 headed to the doc and got a cert so at least she doesn’t have to worry about work.
To get over my mood I went kicking boxes. Of course then I had a hissyfit cause my leg is a bit sore from certain kicks and I convinced myself I was useless at it. EMO kickboxer, I can see the t-shirts now. After 2 classes of kicking and cardio, I had exhausted any energy I had left in me so I couldn’t even argue with myself. The sister’s keep going on about evening primrose oil which I should try, according to Mammy2 the older we get the worse our hormones get. Worse?! I may go homocidal.
I had thought we’d seen the last of her Palin inpersonations, thankfully not!
The serotonin levels are high! Its a Thursday and the sun is shining, not alone is it shining its actually warm. Took a walk at lunchtime and it was so lovely out.
You know, whilst I think Facebook is a great idea of keeping up with people and so on do I really really want to know what my cousin and my brother are up to? Its times like this I worry about being related to them.

Yes they are young males but really? Do they not think that their female relatives might be reading it or do they think that it would be funny if that was the case? I don’t think I’ll understand them. Perhaps its better if I don’t. Whilst I am on the good ship rant-a-licious, I have a question that perhaps you could help me with. Training gear or gym gear or whatever you want to call the clothing you wear when you are excercising. I have come to the conclusion all of the designers must be men because the majority of women’s clothing is lyrca and skin-tight. The men get the clima-cool stuff, the mesh shorts. We have to make do with pink and more pink whilst the men get every colour including pink. Perhaps its only the shops that I frequent that seem to stock these lovely items. I don’t care how comfortable I am with my body I am never getting into lycra shorts. Ever. I found a good pair of longish shorts which of course are mens on a website. The shorts cost 19 dollars which weren’t bad, it would have cost 75 dollars to ship them here. 75 dollars. I continue my search for a comfortable pair to train in. For when our summer temperatures hit the mid 20s like
